About the Show
In the Spring of 2019 Amherst College resident artist, Macon Reed, invited Whoop Dee Doo to Massachusetts for a collaboration with her “World-making” students. Over the course of the semester, co-directors, Jaimie Warren and Matt Roche met with the students to plan an original fully immersive installation and 25 minute show that was performed 4 times on April 12th in a Fayerweather Hall attic classroom.
Using the attic setting as inspiration, the space was transformed into a haunted storage loft filled with moving cardboard box walls, hidden ghost choirs and dead celebrities. The performances featured original songs, costumes, dances and comic vignettes created by Amherst students with direction from Jaimie and Matt.
