YOUTH WORKSHOPS

WHOOP DEE DOO has been leading workshops for youth ages 8-18 since 2006. WHOOP DEE DOO’s artists and educators have created programming with organizations including Art21, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), BRIC, Brooklyn Arts Council, Pioneer Works, Dia:Chelsea & Dia:Beacon, Franklin Furnace, Beam Center, Creative Artworks, Abrons Art Center, NY Studio Residency Program, and Artist Alliance, as well as over 100 colleges and public schools in the United States and abroad.

YOUTH IMPACT

WHOOP DEE DOO connects with youth who become fully involved members of the creative team. Our youth collaborators see the direct influence of their ideas, skills, and interests in every show, and establish professional connections with a robust network of peers and contemporary artists.

Through our workshop series, our young collaborators gain hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • Working collaboratively with peers to create a full production from conception to completion

  • Creating sets, props, costumes and special effects using accessible materials

  • Working as a team to invent creative design solutions

  • Cultivating technical production skills

  • Producing immersive installations

  • Live effects and puppeteering
